What Is Ski Jump?

Ski Jump is a free online ski jumping simulation that captures the thrill of competitive ski jumping across three hill sizes: Normal Hill (K90), Large Hill (K120), and Ski Flying (K185). Experience all four phases of a real ski jump — build speed on the in-run, time your launch off the lip, maintain aerodynamic balance in flight, and stick the telemark landing. Compete in a 2-round competition format with five-judge scoring, just like the real World Cup circuit.

How It Works

Choose your hill size and start the competition. During the in-run, mash the spacebar (or tap on mobile) to build speed — the faster you go, the further you'll fly. At the lip, a shrinking circle appears: press spacebar when it aligns with the target for a perfect launch that adds 15% to your distance. In flight, use arrow keys (or touch the left/right sides of the screen) to keep the balance indicator centered. Good form creates lift; poor form means an early descent. Wind conditions — headwind or tailwind — affect every jump. Land by pressing spacebar at the right moment for a clean telemark landing and bonus style points. Five judges score your style from 0 to 20, with the highest and lowest dropped.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get maximum distance?

Maximum distance requires excelling at all four phases: mash the spacebar or tap rapidly during the in-run to build top speed, nail the launch timing when the shrinking circle aligns perfectly, keep your balance centered during flight, and release at the right moment for a clean telemark landing. Headwind conditions also help carry you further.

What are the different hill sizes?

There are three hill sizes in competitive ski jumping: Normal Hill (K90) with a critical point at 90 meters, Large Hill (K120) with a critical point at 120 meters, and Ski Flying (K185) where athletes can soar beyond 200 meters. Each hill offers progressively longer and more thrilling jumps.

How is ski jumping scored?

Ski jumping uses a combined scoring system. Distance points are calculated based on how far past the K-point you land. Five judges each award 0-20 style points based on flight form, landing technique, and overall impression. The highest and lowest judge scores are dropped, and the remaining three are added to distance points for the final score.
