Swing from rope to rope and launch yourself as far as you can. Time your release to fly further.
Rope Swing is a free online physics game where you swing from anchor to anchor, building momentum and launching yourself as far as possible. With simple one-tap controls, it's easy to pick up but hard to master. Each swing requires precise timing — release too early and you drop, too late and you lose forward momentum. The procedurally generated levels mean every run is different.
Your character automatically grabs the nearest anchor point when in range. While attached, you swing like a pendulum — gravity builds your speed as you swing downward. Tap anywhere (or press spacebar) to release and fly through the air. Land within range of the next anchor to keep going. The further you get, the bigger the gaps become. Your score is the total distance traveled in meters.
Release at the optimal angle — when your character is swinging upward and the rope is angled about 45 degrees from vertical. This converts your swing momentum into forward distance. Building up speed by swinging longer before releasing also helps you cover more ground.
Release when swinging upward at about 45 degrees from horizontal for maximum distance. Too early (straight down) wastes vertical momentum. Too late (straight up) sends you high but not far. The sweet spot is when your velocity vector points forward and slightly upward.
The game simulates pendulum physics — your character swings on a fixed-length rope attached to an anchor point. Gravity accelerates you downward, building angular velocity. When you release, you fly off with whatever velocity you had at that instant, following a parabolic arc under gravity until you reach the next anchor point.
