Reaction Queue is a free online cognitive reaction game that tests both your speed and decision-making under pressure. Unlike simple click-reaction tests, each colored stimulus requires a different response: green means tap left, red means tap right, blue means tap anywhere, and yellow means don't tap at all. The game progressively introduces new colors across 6 phases while shrinking your response window from 1,500ms down to 500ms. You have 3 lives — wrong responses and timeouts cost a life.
The game starts with just green and red stimuli in Phase 1, giving you time to build muscle memory. Blue is introduced in Phase 2, and the tricky yellow "don't tap" stimulus arrives in Phase 3. From Phase 4 onward, the time window shrinks rapidly, testing whether your brain can make correct decisions under extreme time pressure. Points are awarded based on both accuracy and speed — a correct response under 200ms earns 100 points, while slower correct responses earn progressively fewer. Successfully resisting a yellow stimulus earns a 50-point bonus.
Reaction Queue is a cognitive reaction game that tests both your speed and decision-making. Unlike simple reaction tests, you must identify a colored stimulus and perform the correct action: tap left for green, right for red, anywhere for blue, and resist tapping for yellow. It measures processing speed, not just reflexes.
Average reaction times of 300-400ms are typical for most players. Under 250ms is considered fast, and under 200ms earns the "Lightning" rating. Because you must also make a decision (not just react), times are naturally slower than simple click-reaction tests where the average is around 250ms.
Standard reaction tests measure simple reaction time — you see a stimulus and click as fast as possible. Reaction Queue measures choice reaction time, which requires identifying the stimulus color and selecting the correct response from multiple options. This engages more cognitive processing and is a better measure of real-world reaction ability.
