The 5-second pressure test
A category appears. You have 5 seconds to name 5 things. Sounds easy? Your brain will go completely blank under pressure.
20 rounds • 100 max points • Gets harder as you go
Name 5 in 5 is a free online version of the classic 5 Second Rule party game. A category appears on screen and you have exactly 5 seconds to name 5 things that fit. It sounds simple, but the pressure of a ticking clock makes your brain go completely blank. The game features over 100 categories organized by difficulty, from easy warm-ups like "Name 5 fruits" to brain-busting challenges like "Name 5 famous paintings."
Each game has 20 rounds that get progressively harder. A category appears, and after a brief moment to read it, the 5-second countdown begins. Type your answers as fast as you can, pressing Enter after each one. You earn 1 point per answer (max 5 per round) plus a 2-point speed bonus if you name all 5 before time runs out. The maximum possible score is 100 base points plus bonus points for speed.
Yes, completely free. No download, no signup, no ads blocking gameplay. Just open the page and start playing instantly in your browser on any device.
We trust you! Any non-empty answer of 2 or more characters counts. The fun is in the pressure of the countdown, not in strict grading. No duplicate answers allowed within the same round though.
Absolutely. Name 5 in 5 is fully mobile-responsive. The timer stays visible above your keyboard and the input is auto-focused so you can start typing immediately. Works great on phones and tablets.
