Factory Idle is a free online factory automation game where you design assembly lines and optimize production chains on a grid-based factory floor. Place machines, connect them with conveyor belts, and watch items flow through your production chain as you earn revenue. Start with basic iron mining and smelting, then research advanced technologies to unlock 20 different machine types across four technology tiers.
Place machines adjacent to each other on the grid. Conveyor belts automatically connect outputs to inputs when machines are placed next to each other in the correct flow direction (left to right). Miners produce raw materials, smelters process them, and sellers convert finished goods into revenue.
Factory Idle calculates offline production based on your factory's current output rate. When you return, you'll receive all the revenue your factory would have earned while you were away, up to a maximum of 24 hours of offline production.
Factory Idle features 20 machine types across four technology tiers: Basic Materials (miners, smelters, sellers), Electronics (circuit makers, chip fabricators), Vehicles (engine builders, chassis assemblers), and Spacecraft (rocket assemblers, launch pads). Each tier unlocks through research.
