How sharp is your color vision?
One square is a different color. Find it.
Each level gets harder.
The Color Perception Test is a free online game that measures how finely your eyes can distinguish between similar shades of color. The human eye can see roughly 10 million colors, but some people have sharper color discrimination than others. This test pushes your limits by presenting a grid of identically colored squares with one that is slightly different — and each level makes that difference smaller.
Each level shows a grid of colored squares. One square has a slightly different hue, lightness, or saturation. Click the odd one out to advance. The game starts easy with a 2x2 grid and an obvious color difference, then scales up: the grid grows to 8x8 and the color shift shrinks to as little as 1-2%. The difference can appear in any color property — hue, lightness, or saturation — keeping your eyes guessing. One wrong click ends the game.
It is a progressive visual game where you find the differently colored square in a grid. Each level makes the color difference smaller and adds more squares, testing how finely your eyes can discriminate between similar shades.
Most people reach around Level 8. Level 11 or higher is considered eagle-eyed, and Level 16+ is exceptional. Scores above Level 21 approach tetrachromat-level color discrimination, which is extremely rare.
The average human eye can distinguish about 10 million different colors using three types of cone cells sensitive to red, green, and blue light. Some people with tetrachromacy (a fourth cone type) may perceive up to 100 million colors.
