What Is Basket Toss?

Basket Toss is a free online basketball throwing arcade game where you swipe to launch balls into moving baskets. Build streaks for multiplier bonuses, unlock cosmetic ball types, and try to beat your high score before running out of lives. With realistic physics, trajectory preview, and increasingly tricky basket placements, every round feels fresh and challenging. The average NBA free throw percentage is about 77% — can you do better?

How It Works

Click or tap and drag backward from the ball to set your throw's direction and power. A dotted trajectory arc shows exactly where the ball will travel, helping you line up the perfect shot. Release to throw. Clean swishes through the center earn 3 points, while rim bounces that go in earn 2 points. Miss three times and it's game over. Build streaks of 5, 10, or 20 consecutive scores to activate 2x, 3x, or 5x multipliers. As you level up, baskets get smaller, move faster, and obstacles like spinning fans and walls appear after level 10. Every 5 levels features a bonus round with a giant basket.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you improve throwing accuracy?

Improving throwing accuracy comes down to consistent release angles and power control. In Basket Toss, practice short, controlled drags to fine-tune your aim. The dotted trajectory preview helps you visualize the arc before releasing — use it to adjust your power and angle until the line passes through the basket center.

What is the best throwing angle?

In real physics, a 45-degree launch angle maximizes distance for a given speed. However, in basketball-style games, a slightly steeper angle (around 50-55 degrees) is ideal because the ball needs to arc down into the basket from above. A higher arc gives the ball a larger effective target area when entering the hoop.

How do trajectory arcs work?

Trajectory arcs follow projectile motion physics. When you launch a ball, gravity pulls it downward while its initial velocity carries it forward, creating a parabolic curve. In Basket Toss, the dotted preview line calculates this arc in real-time based on your drag direction and power, showing exactly where the ball will travel.
