🏸 Badminton

Smash, drop, and rally your way to 21

What Is This Game?

This is a free browser-based badminton game where you rally against an AI opponent on a side-view court. Use clears to push your opponent deep, drop shots to catch them off guard, and devastating smashes to win points outright. The fastest recorded badminton smash reached 306 mph (493 km/h), making the shuttlecock the fastest projectile in racket sports. See if you can channel that power here!

How It Works

Move your player left and right with arrow keys (or tap the edges of the screen on mobile). When the shuttlecock is near you, choose your shot: Up arrow for a high clear, Down arrow for a drop shot, or tap/click when the shuttle is at peak height for a smash. The AI adapts its strategy based on difficulty — beginners mostly clear, while advanced opponents mix deceptive drops with powerful smashes. First to 21 points with a 2-point lead wins the match.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you smash in badminton?

Wait for the shuttlecock to reach its peak height near your player, then tap or click (or press Space). Timing is everything — hitting at the highest point produces the fastest, most angled smash with speed-line effects.

What are the scoring rules?

Matches are played to 21 points with rally scoring (points on every rally). You must win by at least 2 points. If it reaches 20-20, play continues until someone leads by 2.

How does the AI difficulty work?

Beginner AI moves slowly and never smashes. Intermediate mixes clears, drops, and occasional smashes. Advanced uses deceptive drops, devastating smashes, and fast reactions to keep you on your toes.
